News from the Chairman of the Board
Our voter guide for the 2025 spring primary has been posted on our website click here. Primary elections in odd number years with very few statewide Judge races, no referendum questions, no County Commissioner’s races or County Executive race, and with Common Pleas Judge races in only some counties guarantees a very low turnout. This is when a loyal voter like yourself makes even more of a difference than usual.
LifePAC works very hard to get post office addresses and/or e-mail addresses for all the candidates of both parties to send them our questionnaire. It is not easy and our response rate is low especially for judges. It is possible that there may be pro-life candidates that we have not listed because they did not respond to us. I also wish we could try to question all the school board candidates and other local races, but there are simply more than we could handle. You can be sure everyone we have listed is pro-life, but we apologize in advance if we have missed someone.
Since 1980 we have been the most reliable PAC identifying pro-life candidates in 11 counties in Southwest PA. Now that states have the ability to determine how they will protect mothers and their babies we realize that education about what abortion is and the value of life is necessary. We have begun to partner with PCUC in a billboard campaign to change hearts and minds when it comes to the value of unborn children in the womb. The next big fight in PA may very well not be in the PA legislature but rather our PA Commonwealth and Supreme Courts. The Allegheny Reproductive v Pennsylvania case has been bouncing back and forth on appeals between the Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court. It is possible if the majority in the Supreme Court get their way they will “find” a constitutional right to abortion and all the pro-life restrictions and protections will be overturned. This fall in the general election Statewide Judges whose 10-year term is complete will be up for retention. We will be urging a no vote on the 3 Democratic Supreme Court Judges up for retention that have stated that they want to overturn what lawmakers have passed and previous courts have upheld.
I trust that you will vote early by mail or in person and share this information with family and friends. Please urge them to go to our website www.lifepac.net and give us their e-mail so they will get future voter guides and calls to action.
